Commercial auto insurance covers liability and property damage protection for commercial vehicles such as automobiles, trucks and vans. Commercial vehicles tend to be more risky than private vehicles, so a different policy is needed.

If you drive for business reasons, you need commercial auto insurance. If you intend to deliver something or transport someone, you absolutely need it. Commercial auto insurance is also required if the vehicle is under the company's name.
